I can honestly say that 2010 was the best year of my life. There were so many things that changed me. There were so many things that happened to me that I am so thankful for. The beginning of the year was amazing. I was in London marching their New Year’s Day Parade. It was a day I will never forget. It was an experience I will never forget. I did not want to go back home. But once I did, life was actually really nice. I was living in a new apartment. It was a new environment. It was nice. As the year moved on, I had the troubles of Junior year. I was worried about APUSH, AP Lang., and the SAT. I’m so glad I don’t have to worry about that stuff now. There was the usual drama with family, friends, etc. I survived Junior year though. I passed both of my AP Exams and got decent grades :). The summer of 2010 was the best summer of my life. I was able to drive around so much. I had so much fun. I think I spent a good amount of time with Trang Bi and Vivi Truong. Fun times eating chicken, watching movies, and shopping :). The end of my summer was pure bliss. I went on a trip to Reno with the family and my best friend for a weekend. I started talking to who would be my first boyfriend; my first relationship at that. And to end my summer, the day before school, I went and saw Lady Gaga in concert. I was about 7 feet away from her. It was one of the best experiences of my life. This year also brought my last marching band season. It was really fun. Despite the challenges not only I, but what the band faced, we persevered and gave a damn good performance at Championships. I basically took in the whole Woodwind Section. Along with Helen, we took a whole section of rookie saxophones, two clarinets, four flutes, and a piccolo, and turned them into the best woodwind section we could ask for. Throughout the season, I learned many lessons that I will make sure to put to use in the future. Because of Marching Band, I also became friends with people that I know will be friends throughout my life. You all know who you are. I also had my first relationship in 2010. I’ve already said enough about that though. This year, I also decided to finally try Winter Guard. I love it so far. I get to perform so much more than I do in Marching Band. There are times where I struggle, but I’m not the type of person to give up. I’m doing fine so far, I’m going to complete this season and show everyone that I can do this. My Senior year is going very well. I have the ultimate beat friend, a great group of friends, and a wonderful family. I have a a schedule that is very stressful at times, but most of the time it is very relaxing. So, I’m not going to look back on 2010 and feel sad, I’m going to look back on 2010 with a smile. It has truly been the best year of my life.
2011, ready or not, here I come.
