So today, I was actually paying attention to the sermon in church. It was about Jesus and how he loves us unconditionally. I was hoping the priest would talk about love actually, because in the second reading, it had my favorite love quote from the Corinthians. “Love is patient, love is kind…” blah blah blah, all that other stuff. So during his sermon, he mentioned that the Greeks have three types of love:
The first type of love is “Eros Love”. This love is usually because of physical attraction. The priest said this is also known as teen love (HAHA). This love is usually just sexual attraction and lust working its magic. I guess I could relate to this a lot, well, I think a lot of people could.
The second type of love is “Philos Love”. This love is usually between friends. Well, just not friends, but best friends who get to know each other and accept each other for who they are. So, this love, I can use with my really close friends (:
The third, and last time of love is “Agape Love”. In a religious view, this is the love that Jesus has for everyone, because it is unconditional. In a domestic view, it is the love a mother has for her child. In other terms, it is the love between two people, the love of someone’s life.
Yeah, that’s what I learned in church today. It was probably one of my favorite sermons, EVER. And, I’ve heard a lot of them.
The End :)
